Privacy Policy for Big Mountain Computers

This policy explains how Big Mountain Computers collects, uses, retains, and shares personal information through bigmt.net and while providing computer repair, business IT, communications, website, security-system, training, and related technology services. Big Mountain Computers is owned and operated by Office 179.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you use the website inquiry form, call, email, visit, request service, approve work, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect your name, business name, contact information, service address, selected inquiry topic, device or system details, description of the problem, service history, communications, approvals, and billing records.

Service and support information

To diagnose or support technology, we may receive information about devices, software, networks, accounts, logs, configurations, or files that you choose to provide or authorize us to access. Remote support is performed only with customer authorization. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or remote-access codes through ordinary email.

Website information

Our hosting, security, and content-management systems may automatically record an Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring page, date and time, and security or error events. The site may use cookies or similar storage when needed for security, preferences, or authorized administrator sessions.

Anti-spam verification

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on website inquiry forms to distinguish people from automated submissions. Turnstile processes limited technical signals, such as an IP address, browser user-agent, TLS characteristics, site key, and originating site, for security and bot detection. It does not receive the contents entered into the BigMt inquiry fields. Cloudflare handles these signals as described in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum (opens in a new tab).

Payment information

Payments may be processed by Office 179 or a payment-service provider. Big Mountain Computers does not use this public website to collect complete payment-card numbers. Payment providers handle payment information under their own privacy and security practices.

2. How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries; schedule, diagnose, quote, deliver, document, bill for, and support requested services; communicate about service status; maintain customer and service records; operate and secure the website and business; prevent fraud or misuse; improve our services; and comply with legal, tax, accounting, insurance, and contractual obligations.

3. When we share information

We do not sell personal information or rent customer contact lists. We may share information with Office 179; vendors that provide hosting, security, communications, remote-support, payment, accounting, shipping, or other operational services; manufacturers or service partners involved in authorized work; professional advisers; or government authorities when required by law. We may also share information at your direction, to protect people or systems, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.

4. Office 179 and payment records

Big Mountain Computers is owned and operated by Office 179. Office 179 is the merchant and payment of record for Big Mountain Computers. Invoices, receipts, credit-card statements, or bank statements may therefore identify “Office 179” even when the service was provided under the Big Mountain Computers name.

5. Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including inquiry follow-up, service continuity, warranty or dispute records, security, accounting, tax, and legal requirements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and the service involved. Website inquiries are stored in a restricted WordPress administrator view and may also be delivered to an approved BigMt email recipient. Information stored on a customer device remains subject to the customer’s instructions and the practical requirements of the authorized work.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Customers should maintain current backups and avoid sending sensitive credentials through unsecured channels.

7. Your choices

You may ask us to update inaccurate contact information or inquire about personal information associated with your relationship with us. You may opt out of non-essential promotional messages by using the instructions in the message or contacting us. We may still send service, billing, security, or other transactional communications. Requests are handled subject to identity verification and applicable record-retention obligations.

8. Third-party services and links

The site may link to maps, email, social media, manufacturers, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Big Mountain Computers is not responsible for third-party sites or services.

9. Children’s privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. A parent or legal guardian should contact us if they believe a child supplied such information.
